Research and Project Overview
Challenge
The challenge was to create a complete website within the span of one week to promote a special event called "Industry Night," while also providing relevant information about the Interactive Media Design program. A solution was needed to effectively integrate event promotion, academic program presentation, and student portfolio showcasing.
Brainstorming and Research
The website's creation began with a thoughtful conceptualization phase, aiming to capture the essence of Fanshawe's Interactive Media Design program. A design strategy was formulated to seamlessly present portfolios in a visually compelling and user-friendly manner.
Process
An interface was designed with a focus on user experience, featuring intuitive navigation and a clean design that facilitates the exploration and appreciation of portfolios. Throughout the creation process, the official colors representing Fanshawe College were used to achieve a consistent design, and typography was selected with a modern and professional appearance in mind.
Solution
The solution involved developing a comprehensive website that seamlessly integrated the promotion of the "Industry Night" event with the presentation of the Interactive Media Design program and the showcasing of student portfolios. Within a week, four key pages were designed and implemented: a welcoming homepage introducing the event, an informative about page detailing the program, a student directory page featuring links to individual portfolios, and a dedicated "Case Study" page highlighting successful student projects.
